I've only had the burgers and fries here but my god are they good for being fast food. I love that you get to add your own toppings from the salad bar. All toppings were fresh too! Great place to stop if you need a quick bite. The fries reminded me of the all the small side burger stands I used to go to as a kid travelings with my grandparents.
Why do I keep coming back?! This place continues to disappoint. It is slow and they never get order right. This time, there are no fries ready, 20 minutes later, when we were pretty much done eating, they call me up for the fries being ready. Two other guys brought up their burgers which were made I correctly while we were waiting even. The only saving grace that at least the burger and chicken we're good tasting. I think growing up with Roy Rogers, I've been hanging on by a thread. Not anymore though. This was their third and last time ever.
Terrible customer service. Managers Lydia and Keith are both totally unprofessional and treat their employees like total garbage, especially the young teenagers. I'll be surprised if this place makes it another year. If the owner would open his eyes and get new management this place could definitely be successful, but without that, it's doomed. Its a shame because the food is pretty good.
There was slight snow on the ground when I visited last week. Upon entering the store there were staff hanging out in front of the counter and behind the counter. I ordered a twelve piece all white. Get this they did not have enough chicken. I told them to give me what they had. Another order came in for a 12 piece and they ran out I'd chicken. They had 1/2 pan of chicken in the whole restaurant. I got the baked potatoes and Cole slaw as sides. The potato was old and grey and Cole and the coleslaw was rancid. Never again.
I had been wanting to finally stop by the Flemington Roy Rogers the past year. It turned out to be a one-time only stop. The only thing worse than the food was the bad taste in my mouth left from paying $21.01 for two roast beef sandwiches, a shake and two-piece chicken to go. The chicken in particular was nasty- it looked like it had been sitting around for quite awhile, and tasted that way too. The biscuit could have been used as a baseball it was so hard. Inedible. The shake was a step below McDonald's; they call it vanilla but it tasted more like pure corn syrup. The roast beef sandwiches were warm, not hot, slapped together. And frankly, I get no kick out of going to the fixings bar and adding condiments myself. That’s a Roy Rogers thing and the appeal is utterly lost on me. Because then I have to unwrap each sandwich, fix it up, then re-wrap it. They can make a sandwich behind the counter but can’t add a little mayo? I would have been fine with all that if the food was good. But it wasn’t. And it was really quite expensive, considering I can get an 8-piece fried chicken dinner at the nearby supermarket for $5.99 (compare Roy Rogers 2-piece dinner: $5.19). I could also have gone to a local diner, ordered any of the entrees and had coffee, dessert and left a tip for what I paid at Roy Rogers. Definitely will not be returning. Oh, I will add that there was a group of people standing in the restaurant, just hanging out. Not eating, not ordering, not coming or going, just standing there hanging out.
